Advancing Healthy Sexuality
About
"Open Door" — Advancing Healthy Sexuality is Israel's leading organization in the field of promoting the right to healthy sexuality and quality, trustworthy sexual education. Open Door was founded in 1966 under the name "The Israeli Family Planning Association" and became a registered nonprofit in 1984, with the aim of advancing a society in which every family and individual enjoys good health and quality of life, regardless of their ethnic, religious, or cultural background. A society that upholds the values of gender equality and human rights — including, among others, the right to healthy sexuality —
in which every person is entitled to make informed and free decisions, with equal access to education and quality healthcare services.
Open Door is the exclusive representative in Israel of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), which has been operating for over 60 years in approximately 180 countries. Open Door leads policy at the local, national, and global levels to make sexual health services accessible to adolescents and young people, and to advance recognition of one of the most fundamental human rights: the right to sexual health —
Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR)

Our Vision
Open Door will lead the public and social discourse on healthy sexuality in Israel, while developing up-to-date professional knowledge in the field.
Open Door will be the leading body in protecting and advocating for human rights to sexual health, and in making quality services in this field accessible to all — without discrimination based on gender, religion, age, ethnicity, citizenship, or disability. Open Door will serve as a physical and virtual home — open, accessible, positive, and attentive — in the area of healthy sexuality, with a particular emphasis on the unique needs of adolescents and young people
